About Islamic Financial Planning Certificate (IFPC) by FPAM

The IFPC by FPAM is a CPE-recognised professional qualification by Securities Industry Development Corporation (SIDC) that carries 20 CPE points. The participants will take a standard examination by FPAM consists of 60 multiple-choice questions within 2 hours. A certificate of achievement will be awarded to the successful participant.

The IFPC is also part of FPAM Continuing Education series that serves as a preparatory course for those CFP holders keen on taking the IFP Challenge. FPAM members can earn up to 40 CE points by participating in the IFPC course.

Course Title Islamic Financial Planning Certificate (IFPC) for Capital Market professionals
Synopsis This course is designed to introduce the major issues of Islamic financial planning to capital market license holders. It provides definitions of Islamic concepts, products and instruments in financial planning, and serves as a technical introduction to the discipline of financial planning. The participants will be exposed to the background and concerns of planning for a Muslim client. The course provides an understanding of the financial planner’s role in meeting the client’s financial planning needs in conformity to Shariah.
Objective The objective is to provide the foundation of Islamic financial planning as a professional discipline to capital market license holders.
Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, the participant is able to:

Profile of Trainers 

MAHADZIR AHMAD

Aged 43, holds a BBA (Finance) from the University of Toledo, USA and an MBA (Islamic Banking and Finance) from the International Islamic University Malaysia. He is also pursuing his PhD in Islamic Finance at INCEIF currently.

His career in the investment field and financial services industry started in 1987 when he took the challenge of being a Life Insurance Agent as his first job. Since then, 21 years have passed by and his experience now covers a wide spectrum of being a finance professional. He has performed stock broking research, share dealing, institutional sales and portfolio management, and had spent over 6 years from 1989 to 1996, directly involved with the stock exchange. 

He has been with FPAM since March 2005 and currently is the Program Manager of Islamic Financial Planner (IFP). At FPAM, he is primarily involved with syllabus and modules development, managing trainers, conducting classes, examinations, marketing and other strategic developments of the IFP. 

MOHD AMIR SHARIL BAHARI

Aged 35, holds a Bachelor in Law (Honours) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Syariah Law (DSLP) from the International Islamic University Malaysia, and also a Diploma in Life Underwriting Training Council (LUTC) from Malaysian Insurance Institute. He is also pursuing his Master in Comparative Law at IIUM currently. 

He is one of the pioneers in the Islamic estate planning industry when he incorporated Amanah Hibah Sdn. Bhd. in 2000. He is active with Persatuan Perwarisan Harta Malaysia (PERWARIS) and currently serves as the Assistant Secretary of the association. 

He is a Partner in Bahari & Bahari, a legal firm, specialising in the areas of Islamic Will Writing including Harta Sepencarian, Hibah, Amanah and Islamic Family law matters.
