Continuing Education Requirements

Associate members must complete 15 hours of Continuing Education (CE) every year in order to renew their membership.Once certified, a CFPCERTTM professional is required to maintain technical competence and fulfil ethical obligations by completing 20 hours of continuing education every year. This is to ensure that the member keeps abreast of current developments in the financial planning profession.In addition to the biennial continuing education requirement, every Certified member must also disclose any public, civil, criminal or disciplinary actions that may have been taken against him in the past two years as part of the continuing Re-certification process.

Continuing Education Audit

Random audits are conducted to ensure that Certified and Associate members fulfil their continuing education requirement.

Members selected for the CE audits will be required to complete the CE report and submit proof of CE activities participation.

Certified and AFPM members are therefore required to keep supporting documentation in the event they are audited or to show proof of attendance.
